Employee Performance Management
For managers, empowering employees to do great work while managing performance to ensure that the appropriate amount of guidance and structure is in place can be a difficult balance. TimeFox Is Not Your Typical Employee Time Tracking Software
If empowerment is the key to employee performance management, how does TimeFox Time and Project Management help make it happen?
It's all about using permissions (access levels) in TimeFox to properly manage project information.
For Managers:
While managers are certainly not exempt from using the staff time tracking system, that's just one part of the manager's role in TimeFox. While TimeFox can be customized however you like, typically a project manager will:
- Create a new project in TimeFox
- Assign estimated hours through TimeFox's built-in
estimating software
- Update project statuses throughout a project to ensure that clients, project staff and other management are informed of project progress
- Monitor estimated versus actual hours and project deadlines to ensure that the project is delivered successfully
- Run client, project and personnel reports to communicate project details between the client, staff and business owner or executive.
For Staff:
While customizable, employees can have a similar view into project details as the project manager, with some helpful limitations. Typically, employees will:
- Be assigned to a project by the project manager
- View estimated time per task, and deadlines to properly prioritize workloads
- Log time on a project using the TimeFox timehsheet
- Monitor estimated versus actual time on a project to ensure that tasks are completed within the budget allocated
- Update project status as their role in the project is completed
By keeping the above information transparent in TimeFox, project managers can easily communicate project information to staff. Managers love it, as they are able to avoid redundant tasks and continual questioning of creative teams on the status of projects. By having all of the information needed to complete a project within the guidelines and parameters set out by the project manager, employees also avoid unnecessary communication and admin, and are able to focus on getting things done.
