Testimonials
"Our experience with TimeFox has been extraordinary. It was easy to set up tasks and projects and to begin tracking everyone's time immediately. In fact, when we billed our first project using the TimeFox report generator, we were astonished to learn how inaccurate we were on time tracking. That one job alone paid for a full year of TimeFox for the entire company. That's what I meant by extraordinary!
We all love how easy TimeFox is to use and it immediately established itself as a useful tool company wide."

Work Smarter: New Opportunities with Internet Market Research
The Internet has opened the door and reset the bar for market research. Sometimes still (erroneously) classified as a new marketing medium, the Internet is growing at the astonishing rate of 60,000 new web sites per day! Virtually all markets and languages show continuous activity and growth. Gathered within this environment of high speeds, low costs, and near perfect anonymity,
Internet market research
is proving to be increasingly viable and insightful when conducted independently, or as a valuable complement when integrated with more traditional marketing research methodologies.
Roughly 450 million online searches occur each day (JupiterResearch, 2005). Search engines like Yahoo!, AOL, MSN, Ask Jeeves, and the ubiquitous Google capture and record the exact phrases that searchers are using to find a specific product or service. Search engine users, typing unprompted words and phrases into empty search engine fields, are impartial and uninfluenced when conducting their searches.
Consequently, the information gathered and leveraged from this medium is invaluable from a marketing research perspective. Imagine gathering impartial information from literally millions of people – each day – and basing your marketing campaigns on this data. In most cases, it is used for
search engine optimization (SEO),
to enhance the effectiveness of a web site for certain keywords and phrases highly searched for online. However, as the power of this marketing research is increasingly being discovered and recognized, it is also being used to power a wide range of offline activities.
So what, you ask?
Well, considering that online research drives 70 percent or more of offline purchases (iMedia, 2004), it's undeniable that having a highly visible and functional web presence is vital. An optimized web site ensures that it is ranked high in the search engines for particular search phrases.
Ranking highly in search results is extremely effective in ensuring that potential customers will find you at the most opportune time within the buying cycle – when they are ready to learn, compare, and of course, buy! This is critical to any organization with an online presence.
How else can better research and SEO help your business? It can increase lead generation, reduce operational costs, increase customer loyalty, improve partner or channel development, and offer extensive market analysis.
Lesser known uses of Internet market research
Let's take a look at offline marketing activities as well...

What does this mean?
- You can setup new projects in TimeFox easier than ever before
- Project templates can be created for similar or recurring projects
- Less need to create new tasks for a specific project
- Improved speed and accuracy
Checkout Setup > Projects, to try this yourself.

Stop being a timesheet "nag"
Question:
Other than nagging constantly, how can I encourage my employees to fill in their timesheets every day?
Answer:
Getting staff to fill out time sheets consistently and accurately is a problem for many companies. Each staff member would have a unique reason why they "forget" from as simple as, they do not know how to use the timesheet system they have, or it's a habit that is hard to break. Different things motivate each individual. To overcome this challenge, you must be able to pin point what is the right formula to use. Here are three tips that will help solve this problem.
Set up an incentive or rewards program
There is no question on what rewards can do for someone's morale. It always makes one feel positive and appreciated about the good job that they do. You can set it up as a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly recognition. Give a $20 reward to the top timesheet user each month or have a fund set up for a staff pizza lunch or iTunes allowances if everyone completes their timesheets on time. Perhaps you can go out as a team or spend the day on a golf course or maybe a pat on the back is what it takes. The key is finding the right motivator for each individual.
Have a point person
Assign a point person based on workload or have it as a rotating task for all staff. The point person is responsible to account for everyone's timesheet in the company. Get everyone involved and give them the responsibility of ensuring the company's profitability through completion of all the timesheets.
Ensure that employees understand the importance of completing their Timesheet
Whether you choose to include this as part of your "new hire orientation" or discuss it on your staff meetings, it is important that everyone is on the same page. Everyone should be made aware about the connection between complete, accurate timesheets, a healthy profit margin, and job security. Demonstrate how tracking time affects the company's bottom line and how that impacts employee salaries, bonuses etc. It's as simple as saying: "If you don't enter your time, we can't bill our clients. If we can't bill clients for the work we've done, we cannot be profitable, if we're not profitable, we won't be able to afford bonuses or raises, and may need to downsize the company".
FunctionFox understands that this is a concern with most companies. That is why you have the ability to send out automatic timesheet reminders with TimeFox. If a user forgets to input their time from the previous day, they will get a reminder (with a bonus inspirational quote) that gets sent directly to the user's inbox every morning. It will prompt them to put in their timesheet without having to get "nagged" by anyone.
Filling out timesheets can be an unfamiliar habit for new time-trackers, and they may need some extra encouragement. It doesn't hurt to have incentive programs in place but always remember that the bottom line is: accurate timesheets = increased staff accountability and profitability.
