Billing What You Quote
"I don't need to track my time because I always bill what I quote". Lots of creative companies feel this way. The argument goes something like this: "We quote what we think the job will cost. Sometimes we put in just a few hours and collect the whole fee. Other times we spend a lot more time on a job than we thought we would. We still collect the same fee. It's what our clients expect."
We understand where these firms are coming from. Tracking time for each task is something almost everyone despises and avoids. It's easy to find reasons to avoid it, too. There's always something more pressing and immediate than a timesheet: deadlines, presentations, meetings and the concentrated creative time that each job deserves. Companies that bill by the hour, of course, have a problem. If they don't track their time, they can't bill for it.
We believe that EVERYONE should track their time, whether they bill by the hour, by the job, or by a flat monthly fee. What we are all doing is selling our time. While other factors affect the price we can charge (prevailing pricing in the market, past billing history with clients, etc.), time is what we're really selling. Time is the raw material we use to create our product or service. If we don't know how much the raw material costs, we can't price the product properly.

Updated Timesheet has been released!
The Fox team has – as always - been busy developing new ways to make a good thing even better. As a result, we've made some great additions and improvements to the most important page in TimeFox - the timesheet. It has been optimized for all the latest browser versions, so whether you choose to take advantage of the new features or not, it will run faster than ever before!
The updated timesheet makes it easy to Start and Stop timers in one simple click. You can also automatically stop time and start a new timer when you switch tasks. We've developed a new page called 'My Preferences' and added some new options, such as multiple timers, so you can customize the timesheet exactly as you like. But we've kept the interface the same, so you can use the timesheet as you've always done. After all, we don't want you to have to waste time learning a new interface!

Q. I am a multitasker and often work on more than one project at once. How do I keep track of my time when I am multitasking?
A. With the updated timesheet page you can customize your personal timesheet to allow for multiple timers to run at once. This way you can multitask on projects and still capture the time worked on each project.
Q. How can I customize the timesheet page?
A. Customize your personal timesheet by clicking "My Preferences", a new link on the timesheet page beside My Week and My Month. If you want to modify timesheet options for all employees, go to Setup > Org Preferences.
